How to cook Boerewors

Grilling (Bar-Braai-Queuing) Boerewors

Instructions:

Preheat your grill to a medium-high heat. Place the boerewors on the grill. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until it is browned on all sides and cooked through. Check for Doneness: The internal temperature should reach at least 160°F (70°C).

Rest the Boerewors: Let the boerewors rest for a few minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.

Pan Frying Boerewors

Instructions:

Preheat the Pan: Heat a large frying pan over medium heat. Add a small amount of oil to the pan to prevent sticking. Place the boerewors coil in the pan and cook for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through. Check for Doneness: Ensure the internal temperature reaches at least 160°F (70°C).

Air Frying Boerewors

Instructions:

Preheat the Air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3-5 minutes. Place the boerewors coil in the air fryer basket. Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons oil
    2 large onions, sliced
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 can KOO Braai Relish (400g)
    1 teaspoon sugar (optional, to taste)
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    1 teaspoon paprika
    1/2 cup beef stock or water
    Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Directions

  • Heat the Oil: In a large saucepan, heat the oil over medium heat.
  • Sauté Onions and Garlic: Add the sliced onions and cook until they are soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  • Add KOO Braai Relish: Stir in the can of KOO Braai Relish.
  • Season: Add sugar (if using), salt, black pepper, and paprika. Stir well to combine.
  • Add Stock: Pour in the beef stock or water and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and let the gravy cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens to your desired consistency.
