Spicy Apricot Sauce

This versatile spicy apricot sauce is the perfect condiment for barbecues. Combining easily with many kinds of meat, there is no end to its uses.

We use the grill any chance we get. Cooking up some peri peri chicken or prego steaks, for a quick, easy and tasty dinner. This spicy apricot sauce goes well with it all!

Versatile sauce for the family

The whole family will love this sauce. It can be used as a sauce on beef burgers, or a dipping sauce for our famous chicken chips! Combine it with garlic dressing on your barbecued kebabs, or use it as a glaze on roast chicken pieces. The only limit is your imagination.

This spicy apricot sauce works beautifully with our beef, pork and chicken.

Ingredients

  • 425g can apricot nectar (jam can be used)

  • ¼ cup white wine vinegar (60ml)

  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon mild sweet chilli sauce

  • 1 clove garlic, crushed

  • 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger

  • 2 teaspoons corn flour

  • 1 tablespoon water

Directions

  • Combine nectar (jam), vinegar, soy and chilli sauces, garlic, ginger, blended cornflour and water in pan, simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes or until sauce is reduced and thickened.
